Copy layers between PS files in same position?

Does anyone know how you copy layers between photoshop documents by drag & drop and have the layers placed in the same position?

Try this:

1. Select Duplicate layer from the layers panel flyout in your source document.

2. In the dialog, specify your target document as the destination for the duplicate.

If the images are both the same size, hold shift while dragging...

I don't think I get this....

How can the copied items be in the same place if the two documents are different sizes?

It places the layer according to it's x and y co-ordinates. So sometimes the objects on the layer may not be visible in the new document if it is smaller than the original.
