How can the surface of this garnet crystal be made to appear glassy instead of waxy or grainy?

I have attempted to apply all of the filters and have failed.

These two images are not acceptable because one portrays the crystal faces as being as lustrous as fine sand paper instead of being as lustrous as polished glass.  The second image looks like the crystals are covered by a coating of oil rather than being as lustrous as polished glass.  I have spent hours attempting to correct these problems via the filters.  I have wasted over 2 hours of my time.  I am struggling with issues like this for up for 15 hours per day and have been doing so for weeks.

    Hi

You need to start with the right photo lighting. What I see seem to be "environment" reflexions on the crystal object, making the object opaque.

Try the Camera Raw Filter and balance Noise reduction with a small amount of sharpening. Hopefully you have a higher res, and unsharpened, image to start with than you have posted here. However, even based on your top image you can still take some noise out without losing the surface detail :

The Image is noisy and soft.  So It is a balancing act removing noise. sharpening and retaining details. Tighten the rope and stay balanced or you will fall.
