Hi,

Did you try resetting your preferences?

1. Exit the application

2. Press and hold Alt+Control+Shift (Windows) or Option+Command+Shift (macOS) as

you start Adobe Software. You may be prompted to delete the current settings. The

new preferences files are created when you start the application.

Thanks.

Try this method. or run your program as a Administrator.

I suggest you Press Window key + R and then enter %Appdata%

After that delete all the files and then uninstall your adobe photoshop and reinstall it from creative cloud app.

Hope so it will work for you.

Mine is crashing too, tried the above mentioned fix but no joy. Mine gets to the "bug" screen and then it's game over.  I'm running windows 10 pro.   Not a good experience so far . . .

Hi TinTin, and Droogie,

Sorry for the crash on your systems.

Are both of you logged in as administrators?

Have either of you tried using Selective Startup using the msconfig tool to troubleshoot there being a potential software conflict with Photoshop's startup?

Some instructions to do that here: HP PCs - Using Microsoft System Configuration (Windows 10, 8) | HP® Customer Support

Disable startup items, and non-Microsoft services, reboot, then let us know if Photoshop CC 2019 starts up normally for you.

Are you crashing during startup? or can you get into Photoshop at all for enough time to view Photoshop's Help > System info dialog?

If you can get to it, please post the System Info text into the forum thread here when you can.

Thank you!

Regards,

Pete

No, our windows systems are locked up tight - you need admin intervention to add any programs (other than Adobe products - we are on Adobe Enterprise).

And it crashes as soon as the bug window opens.  2018 works just fine.  Just not 2019.  And I foresee this same thing happening with the rest of our cloud users.

Have you submitted the crash report to Adobe when it comes up?

Are you adding an email address when you submit?

If so, feel free to send me the email address your putting in there via private message (no need for it to be public here).

I'll have the engineering team take a look at the crash report.

Hey guys. Big problem on 2019 Photoshop on my Mac running 10.12 - - It opens existing files, but almost immediately beach balls out. I have (1) reinstalled the program . . . still beach ball after about 15 to 20 seconds, or whenever you move cursor to any menu item or attempt ANY action . . . so (2) did the reset of preferences on start up, which fixed nothing. Hopefully I can figure out how to back-grade to 2018 so I can get my work done. Remind me to never upgrade in the middle of a job! I am set to auto-report to Adobe, so they should have five or six prime specimens to work with if they want to figure out what they did wrong. If you have any brilliant ideas as to how to fix the new version, let me know and I will try them out.

Hi Dano and all,

For those on Mac systems, can you try creating a new Administrator User Account and see if CC 2019 applications open for you?

Basic troubleshooting steps to solve problems and issues in Adobe Photoshop CC

The engineering team is investigating these crashes on startup, but I've had luck with new user accounts being able to open Photoshop CC 2019 successfully.

Let us know how that goes.

Regards,

Pete

May try that later, as in Next Week. I already spent a couple hours trying the usual of deleting the prefs, caches, etc and finally unistalling the new and reinstalling the previous version. I've been on very hard deadlines and haven't the time to explore options. Hopefully the bugs will be worked out soon.

NONE of my CC 2019 apps (that I upgraded to yesterday) will start up without crashing. Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign. I'm on a Mac Pro (Late 2013),  3.7 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon E5 processor, 16 GB RAM.

I've had to uninstall all three and go back to CC 2018.

PITA and a lot of wasted time. Will be on the lookout for a crash fix.

2018-10-18_20-22-59.pngPhotoshop 2019 is bad, as in not good. I just did the update yesterday. Haven't been able to use it. It crashes constantly. Yes, I sent the crash reports, many of them. I'm uninstalling 2019 and going back to 19.1.6. It was good, as in it worked! Once everyone else has done Adobe's bug testing, and the engineers take that data to make a working version, I'll jump back in. Imagine people who would pay to be guinea pigs. Oh, wait, I'm one of them. (Hint: we all are) I used Snagit to do this screen shot, as PS is broken.

That doesn't work for a lot of us that are in large companies and the networks used is windows active directory for security purposes - as in locked down tighter than a drum and are not able to turn user accounts on and off. Am surprised this version was released into the wild without proper testing in all scenarios.

When replying to this thread would be very important and most helpful to know

  1. What OS version you are on
  2. Was UAC was disabled or not
  3. Does CC2018 still work

Prior to installing  Adobe Version updates, I have 2  recommendations:

  1. Check your hardware and software meets the requirements Adobe Illustrator system requirements
  2. Click on advanced options during install and choose to keep the prior version

Sorry, I'm on windows 10, uac was not disabled and photoshop 2018 works great as do all the other updated 2019 programs. Photoshop 2019 was the only glitch.

I'm not seeing the option for "advanced options" anywhere on my Creative Cloud desktop app during install.  Where might that be?  Again, on windows 10.

Should come up right after you click update button in Adobe cloud, look for a gear icon or red type "Advanced Options". But do not make another click after update button until you find or will remove.

Show a screenshot of where you are at.

For  illustrator you will have to find the option to  install previous version, try the triangle dropdown to right of open. Photoshop still says update, so you can still catch this in time.

I don't even get the apps button, cause at work we have a locked down enterprise version of Adobe Cloud, so sorry I can't be more on target in my replies.

Mine is an enterprise version too, just not as locked down.  The drop down to the right only shows access to tutorials, ability to download previous app versions and "learn more"

Supposed to be a manage >> other verions button.

Install previous version of your Creative Cloud app

if not scroll down and look around might be a previous versions heading like this

xxx.png

Since you have install and update button, you should be able to do this without contacting your IT dept.

I have been struggling with this issue for the past 3 days and I was at my wits end.  I disabled the UAC and voila!  So relieved!  Thank you!

For anyone still crashing, I would be interested in seeing a file that Photoshop creates during its launch. It is possible that the crash happens too early, but the file would be in the Photoshop settings folder. Possibly your equivalent of the path

C:\Users\YOU\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC 2019\Adobe Photoshop CC 2019 Settings\sniffer-out.txt

That file might provide some useful information into figuring out why the crash is happening. The file gets written each launch, so please send one that occurs right after a failed launch.

Another thing to try to work around the bug is to leave UAC on, and launch Photoshop as Administrator. If that works, you could leave UAC on and create an alias that launches Photoshop as admin. Of course if your system is locked down then you won't be able to do that.

this worked for me:
- I disabled UAC
- start photoshop as administrator (windows 10 btw)

- returned UAC to the normal settings

and next time it will start the normal way also.. it seems as if photoshop tries to initially write something at the first boot which fails.. but this seems to fix it for me..

Still doesn't help those of us that are on locked down Windows Active Directory networks, of almost 5,000 employees I might add - will this bug be fixed in any future updates so we can use the latest version?

Sorry, Droogie45, I am looking into this bug. The short answer is yes, this will be fixed. But in order to fix it I need to get more information somehow. If you are still crashing, can you attach the sniffer-out.txt file that Photoshop [hopefully] creates during its launch? The file is at your equivalent of the path

C:\Users\YOURNAME\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC 2019\Adobe Photoshop CC 2019 Settings\sniffer-out.txt

Meanwhile, I will keep trying to reproduce this crasher in-house.

I thought of one more thing to try as a temporary workaround. If you create a text file:

    C:\Users\YOURNAME\AppData\Local\Temp\PhotoshopCrashes\Crash_test.txt

and in it put two lines:

1

Crash

Then, when Photoshop launches, it should notice this file, and temporarily stop using the GPU. If Photoshop successfully launches then, it will run but without the benefit of the GPU, and any features that require the GPU will not work. This would be useful information for me as well.

Sorry, but I've totally deleted it and went back to 2018 version.  My workload is not allowing me to mess with it . . .  I'm afraid it is going to delete my 2018 version . . . I'll reinstall it tomorrow and then send you the file.

I went through the disabling UAC, resetting prefs and everything else, nothing would work. I was able to get it to start without crashing by disconnecting the machine from the network. It started without error. I tried repeating this but after a couple of restarts it would stop working whether or not the computer was connected.

While Photoshop was working I turned off all the preferences that I felt might try to connect to the internet but after that it still would not startup without crashing once the splash screen cleared. It did start with the graphics adapter warning once or twice which would then let me in and run Photoshop, Then next start would crash again. No much repeatable. seems even after disabling networking again it wouldn't work properly so that might have been a fluke.

PS 2018 works just fine. Have both installed fortunately and I have tried removing 2018 but 2019 still fails to start properly.

Windows 10 Enterprise

HP Zbook15

nVidia K1100m

16g ram

500gb SSD

Core i7 4600M

Also tried latest GPU drivers from nVidia as well as last officially support drivers from HP for good measure. No joy either way.

(Replying from my personal account - don't have a profile for the corporate-managed account I'm using at work where I have the problem)

Editing that file did not help!

The crash does create sniffer-out files on my system - how can I get these to you? (No file-sharing or cloud services as I'm on a corporate network, e-mail would be best!)

Thanks, Eric!

Did Photoshop launch successfully this time?

What version of Windows are you running? (Windows key, search for Settings, click System, click About, scroll to find what Edition and Version you have. For example, I have Windows 10 Enterprise, Version 1803.)
