What course's do you recommend on Lynda.com, If I want to learn poster/flyer design? I have a couple of examples I took from Pinterest, these are the things I want to learn how to make. What I mean is that I don't want to make these exact posters or flyers, but at least be able to. I want to learn how to make objects look realistic and all I need is for you guys to help me out with some courses you recommend. I have intermediate knowledge in Photoshop.

Here's a couple. Learning to use InDesign and Illustrator would be useful as well as Photoshop:

Thanks alot! But I'm looking for more of photo manipulation I believe. For example, I want to learn how to place those glasses and pineapple in the picture and make them look realistic, and I want to know what adjustments to use on them and how to cut them.

Log onto Lynda.com and look for Photoshop compositing techniques, such as: Photoshop Compositing Tips, Tricks, & Techniques

Adding text to your illustration (especially if it's a brochure) might be best done in InDesign.

No results to PS if I search anything with the word "composting". Are you sure Photoshop is related to composting?

compositing...

Composting is done in your garden... Compositing is done with Photoshop and similar programs to put different layers together to create one artwork.

Derek Cross: I’ve never had a corrupted Photoshop file, but I had corrupted disks...so back-ups on a separate disk (not partition) are crucial for a good data security. But that is standard computer wisdom. People will start doing backups after their first crash...

By the way, you'll be using Layers to create these effects, when you've completed the job you may want to save it as (say) a JPG for distribution or printing. Make sure you keep a copy of the original Layered file so you can go back, if necessary, and make further changes if required. It may be difficult if not impossible to make any changes once the PSD file is Flattened.

Also keep incrementally Saved back-up copies so you can retrieve your work if you get a file corruption. It's easy to lose weeks of work if you don't!
