Why does my Hand tool zoom

This is one that has been driving me crazy foe months So i'm finally getting around to trying to find an answer.

I've been using Photoshop since version 4 and the hand tool has always just allowed you to just move the artwork around n the stage.

No win CS^ the hand tool zooms and re positions the artwork.

Is there any way to get the old behavior back?

    Alright I know this was asked a long time ago, but I figured it out after about 45 mins (of wasted time).

    Instead of using the hand tool, use the space bar shortcut instead. It temporarily uses the pan/hand tool and doesn't do the super annoying zoom function.

    If you're using a pen tablet, set the button shortcut to spacebar and it should work perfectly.

    I'm replying two years late, just in case someone has the same problem I hope to save them wasting so much time to correct this.

      I'm using Adobe Illustrator CS6 Extended on a Windows 7 machine

      Intel I7 2600 3.40 GHZ

      RAM: 16 GB

      45 GB usable disk space

      No plugins

      Disable OpenGL.

      Preferences >> Performance... >> Graphics Processor Settings block >> uncheck Use Graphics Processor checkbox and restart Photoshop.

      Apparently that thread doesn't work I get a page that is too big for the browser window. It doesn't scroll so all I get is a cropped segment of a paragraph in text that must be something like 300 pixels

      I didn't know you had this going on with your browser. "Cmd 0" will fit it to screen.
