Can't import a .mov clip into Adobe Premier 2022 but no problems with Adobe Rush

Been trying to get Elements 2022 to import a .Mov File on my laptop that was imported from my Iphone 13. It's in 1920x1080 30fps. Ive followed all the instructions I could find on the subject "Hevc" regarding giving permissions, deleting caches folders and such but no luck.

I can open the same .mov file with no problems in Adobe Rush, The windows media player and such but no matter what I've done it still wont import to Elements 2022

Any ideas?

Have installed the HEVC codec from Microsoft?

Yes, installed the HEVC from Microsoft and followed an instruction video on giving extra permissions for the Hevc files as well.

Adobe Premiere Pro and Premiere Elements support MOV files, but MOV is a multimedia container format which contains various types of data encoded using one of several codecs. A MOV file can use MPEG-4, MJPEG, H.264, HEVC, GoPro CineForm, or other video codec for compression. 

It boils down to missing codecs.

I could do this by loading the mov into Rush first, saving the project and then importing into Elements. Im just suprised one can do it and not the other since you would figure they all use the codecs installed on my PC. Its either that, or Adobe Rush has the software to handle the Codec and Elements doesnt. To be honest I was looking to stop using Rush and covert everything into one studio since it had more bells and whistle.  I suppose I could use that link from adobe to just add in a extra step.

(If this problem has not already been solved.)  One could possibly use a video editor installed on their computer (a basic free one that comes with the computer, not adobe).  One can open the computer's video editor, select new project, then enter the mov file into the project, then export the video.  It would be another copy of the mov video, but saved to a different file format, such as mp4, so it would possibly work with with adobe premiere.

huh.  it still fails when trying to convert via Express.  Trying ot covert a MOV to MP4.  I'm suprised Premier Pro can't handle this but a piece of software like Filmora has no problems.  What a bummer.

What still fails?  This is a months old topic in the Premiere Elements forum.   Do you have a Premier Pro question? What is the codec inside your MOV file?
