Elements Organizer crashes on importing

I freshly installed Premier Elements. It crashes as soon as I try to import photos.

This happens both with the general Import button and the Files and Folder targeted import of particular folders.  When using targeted import, the last photo it was attempting was a jpg.

I tried reinstalling the software; this didn't help.

Looking online, the usual solution seems to be to return the product for a refund.  Before doing this, is there anything else to try?

Without knowing more about your version and your computer, it is impossible to guess.  If it were me and it is a new, current version, I would start a "chat session" with Adobe technicians.
