Error when Importing

Hi all,

I paid for a stock video and it's a .mov file. It has a transparent background. When I try importing it into Elements (I have 2020) it gives me this error: The importer reported a generic error

So I hopped into Movavi and converted the .mov to a .mov for fun, and re-imported to Elements and it worked fine. However, it removed the transparent background.

I'm at a complete loss how to fix this issue or why Elements can't open the file to begin with. Any help would be appreciated, or how to maintain transparency when trying to re-convert it to allow Elements to import. Thank you.

Can you upload the orginal file so I can have a look.

Guessing you dont want to do this on the forum.

You can do this with dropbox or we transfer and send the link via PM to me.

If you dont want to that is ok with me.

On a side note there are not much options to convert files and maintain alpha.

The reason they wont import into Elements is that they are Prores files.

Converted them to Quicktime with Animation.

Should be able to use them now with an alpha channel.

You are welcome.

I figured it might be Prores.

Converted with Premiere Pro and voila.
