I notice that when I adjust/edit images etc, a copy is placed into Organiser which I do not want to occur. All videos, images, screen clips etc that I use in Premiere Elements 2023 are copies of originals stored elsewhere in my pc ... I do not want to modify the originals.
What is the setting so that Organiser does not store these edits. I should add that these basic edits are made within Premiere and (as yet) not in Elements.
Organizer is not connected to Premiere Elements like that. Organizer is independent of Premiere Elements and does its work searching for "new" files in the background. I don't use it and keep it "off". I've used Lightroom Classic to keep track of my photo and video files.
I also consider Organiser to be good.
I have 'unwatched' file and also created individual shortcuts on desktop to each of the 3 2023 programmes. If Organiser continues to insist on collecting images without 'my permission' then I guess I am defeated!

Try Edit > Preferences > Media Analysis and uncheck everything.

Thanks Bill. I didn't have much 'checked' in Media Analysis but have unchecked what was left and will see the result. I guess that the edited (copy) images can be deleted without effecting the original file? Maybe they are somehow associated with the image edit files held in a video project so maybe best to leave until I delete the video edit files?

Every photo programme tries to 'grab' any images. Like you, I have now turned off to advice only when new images are found ... monthly I add any new images from our cameras/mobiles to the Windows Pictures from which I can decide what Organiser should file.
Thanks for assistance.

Unfortunately it seems that there is no way of stopping Organiser from 'grabbing' any snips from (say) online that one uses in an edit, even though these 'snips' are not placed in the primary Windows Picture folder.

Bill ... how do I turn 'off' Organiser so that it will not still keep searching for new files ...
I want to only import new files from my cameras and do not want any direct association between Organiser and Elements/Premiere Elements. Obviously this is a different requirement to the 'design' but it must be possible to have Organiser 2023 as a stand-alone programme.
Thanks

I don't use organizer at all. In Folders, you can see which folders are "watched". Right click and "unwatch" them. When I installed Premiere Elements, I found the direct .exe file and created my own icon on my desktop screen. On my computer it is here: "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Elements 2023\PremiereElementsEditor.exe"

Thanks Bill, I will give that a try. Presently I only have a year 2023 watched folder.

Unwatching that folder should do it. I think Organizer is a good application. I would probably be useing it if I was not happily using Lightroom Classic to keep my image files organized.

I'm defeated ... even though I have actioned all above, including no 'Watched Files', the Organiser still insists on capturing such as image edits, screen shots etc from a special folder I use for images ... which is not the Windows 'master' Picture file but a copy of what I need. Of course I can delete at some stage these Organiser captures but it then wants to look for 'Disconnected Images'. Kind of makes life difficult!
Do we have access to 'Adobe' where perhaps someone will know how to set a complete disconnect between Premiere and Organiser? I really only want Organiser to file images that I import to the Windows Picture master file from eg my camera and not from any other source.
I really hope that this can be solved.
