I know that premiere elements is a hobby product. But how can a product dubbed '2024' not support HEVC/H.265 export or GPU supported export? And since the export is so relatively slow, queued export would also be a nice feature.

Currently I export in a high bitrate h.264 and then use handbrake with my GPU to encode to h.265.

  • You can do better adobe. 🙂

This is primarily a user forum so your request is not likely to reach Adobe developers.

I'm curious about why you need or prefer H.265?

Because it has a better quality than h.264 compared to bitrate.

Is there a better place to opt for wishes for future updates?

From what I read, H.265 can produce smaller files, but the visual quality is not better.  My personal experience is the same.  I continue to use H.264 because the lower compression algorithms help editing be smoother.    If I ever move above 4K, H.265 could be necessary.   I would not think that once compressed to H.264, that another compression via Handbrake to H.265 would improve anything.

I've been active in this group for about 10 years and have never found a means or place to provide feature requests or suggestions like there is for the Creative Cloud subscription products.

Uhm, video quality is should be compared vs size. If h.265 gives roughly the same quality as h.264 but at half the bitrate/size obviously I would prefer using h.265 as it takes up less space and requires less bandwidth to stream.
