Coming from 2015 version you used to be able to just right click on the audio or video and fade in and out. obviously this is very useful simple and important for both audio and video especially at the end of a video.
Cant you do this in the premier elements 2025 version ?
This was so simple to do in the 2015 version not sure why its changed.

Select the timeline clip and right-click. Choose Fade and then choose an option - see image.
You could also use Film Dissolve. See My YouTube Video

not sure what version you are using. im in quick edit on premier elements 2025 and there is no option like that on right clicking the video in the time line. only options are. seperate audio , expand audio, duplicate and clear. are you on this version or on premier pro 2025 ?

I can get the default transition set to "Dip to Black" in Advanced and use Shift+D to get a similar result as Fade. But I can't get the Default Transition to change in Quick. Dropping "Dip to Black" works OK in Quick but not as a default. (I'm on the Windows version.)

Dip to black is not the same to a cross dissolve.
A dip to black is best suited as a double side transition.
When used as a single side transition, you need to tweak the parameters.
