I am trying to add files to my project, which i have done using the same recording equipment numerous times. I have never had that message before. its allowing me to add some files but not others. i do have the HEVC ext on my PC. They were all recorded on an DJI Action 4 video recorder. Any advise or help would be appreciated.

You didn't say which version of Premiere Elements you are using. Older versions require the right Microsoft extensions and they have to be working. Newer versions work better. There are three choices. First, fix the Microsoft extensions. Second, convert the HEVC video files to the more compatable H.264 and the HEIF files to JPEGS. Third is to set your DJI camera to shoot the more compatable H.264 video files and JPEG stills. A good conversion program for existing video files is Handbrake (which is free).

If it is working OK on 400 files and only 12 are a problem, it seems there must be something different about those 12. If you share one of them, it might be possible to figure it out.
