I need to perform motion tracking of a simulation / animation over video of the actual product. I selected the product video (what I want to track the sim video to) and then clicked on the Tools icon. All tools are greyed out (not colored, as I see in some tutorials), but are selectable. Motion Tracking, however, is not in the list of tools. I've found info on how to use motion tracking, but I cannot find anything regarding how to get the tool itself to appear. Help!!!

Which version is this?
As for 2025 it does not have motion tracking.

That's disheartening to see they are removing features. Are there any known workarounds / other tools that could be used to move a small video clip across the screen (my specific application only requires a linear, horizontal move)?

The Effect on Selection tool applies an effect to a selected object and then tracks that object around your video frame, sort of like the Tracking tool.
My tutorial is for an older version of the program, but the same tools are in version 2025.

Sorry Steve but that is not Motion Tracking but rather tracking a Mask.
Motion Tracking as in e.g. attaching a Callout to a walking person.

That is correct. And I share your frustration in Adobe's decision to remove the Tracking tool. But this tool is as close as it gets right now.

Appreciate the idea. This works for an effect (like your mosaic mask), but I'm a bit confused as to how I can use my video clip in place of an effect.

There's currently no tool for doing it automatically.
