No center channel audio in Elements 2020. Can't hear any talking.

Hi,

I have multiple movie files thathave no audio when I bring them into PE2020 to edit them.  It's as if the audio is on the center channle, but PE is only playing the left and right channels.  Is there some way to force it to just put the center onto the L and R so I get the words?  I can hear the talking if I play the same file back in VLC or some other media player.  It' sjust in PE that I have no talking.

Thanks.

Premiere Elements can edit stereo but can not edit multi-channel channel audio or a video clip with several video channels. Do you know what type of audio your video has?

If not, open your video in the free download MediaInfo. In MediaInfo set View to Text and then copy the text to this forum. With this detailed report we'll better be able to advise you..

Here's the info.

I guess I can probably just run the file through Handbrake and then bring that into Premiere Elements.  But if there's a way to do it without having to do that, let me know.

Thanks.

As we suspected, this is 6 channel audio. You won't be able to edit it or control the individual channels in Premiere Elements.

So there's no way to have Premiere Elements convert it to two channel audio? I have to do that separately and then bring the program into Premiere elements to do the editing?

That's correct. Or you could edit in a multichannel pro program like Premiere Pro.

Yeah. I tried using Pro once or twice and just got very confused and changed back to elements. I just do this on the side for a little personal projects and don't need anything fancy except apparently this one feature.
