Premiere Elements won't load [Branched from an existing thread]

I bought Premier elements in October 2022 and was using it on my Apple desktop a week ago but now when I click on the icon it won't load the workspace or give me access to my projects and files. It wants me to pay for an upgrade. Is that normal practice?

no.  post the issue in the premiere elements forum.  including a screenshot of what you see after triggering the problem may be helpful.

I am on Windows, so I know that Microsoft is very good about maintaining backwards compatibility when Windows 11 performs an update... and I have read that Apple is 'not so good' with backwards compatibility

Which Apple operating system do you have, and has your system updated between working and not working?

Try right-clicking on the icon and selecting  Run as Administrator.

Is 'run as administrator' also for Apple?

Good question.  I think it's possible but the process is much more complicated.

So I'm not sure what to recommend to a Mac user.
