Hello, I have Premiere elements problem with voice. I have edited VOB –files. When I add VOB-file to Premiere Elements the sound is not syncronised with video. When watching the video the audio comes little bit later than picture (video).
When watching the original VOB files with VLC the sound and the video is okay.
Thanks for the answer. The Handbrake program cannot be used to cut suitable clips from VOB files. My VOB files are half an hour long and the same video can end in the middle of a VOB file or continue to the next VOB file. I would also like to cut out part of the video.
How much does this HandBrake lose from the original VOB file? Frame width 720 and frame height 576. For example, the duration of the video (VOB) is about 30 minutes and the size is 845 MB. After HandBrake (Fast 1080p30) the file size is 440 MB. The frame width and frame height are the same as in the VOB file.
You can't measure visual quality with file size. Codecs have become so good, that you are not likely to see a difference. Look carefully at the result and compare it to the original. Do you see a significant difference on your screen?
Thanks for the answer. You are right, there is no difference at least on a small screen. What would be a good resolution when the original VOB video is frame width 720 and frame height 576. Is the default preset fast 1080p30 good?
You need to keep the original VHS/DVD size... trying to expand a standard definition video to high definition requires special tools... I don't think PrE will do a very good job of such an expansion

Should I use these settings that correspond to my VOB files: Preset Fast 576p25 and change Peak Framerate --> Constant Framerate. Are there any other changes to the defaults in this case?
In case you didn't know, a VOB on a DVD has already been "heavily" compressed to make a movie DVD
An AVI from a camera is about 13Gig per hour of video... which compresses down to about 4Gig to go on a DVD
Depending on the problem you are seeing you can try different effects, but there really isn't a lot you can do that will make those compressed files much better
I filmed the original home videos 20 - 30 years ago. First for VHS, VHSC and 8mm tapes, which I have transferred to VOB files using Sony's DVD recorder. So the original video quality is poor for today's HD or 4K screens. The picture is blurry. I am looking for a program that could sharpen or improve the image of the video.
