Most likely corrupt (Elements is not Quicktime!!)
Might need to run it through handbrake.

Without knowing anything about your project, project settings or clips themselves, it is only a guess. Either the clip is bad, it comes from an unusual source or you've inserted a red matte.

The clips run fine in QuickTime. It's also random clips depending on where the playhead is or if I close the program then reopen.

I can import it and play it fine in PE. Then I adjusted the audio levels and the screen goes red. How can PE read and play it and then all of sudden not be able to read it? Does adjusting the audio corrupt the video file somehow?

I converted the clip to mp4 and then reimported and it worked fine. Thanks for the suggestion!
