Hey everyone,
So when I start Adobe Premiere, I get a popup telling me I should update to the new version. Problem is, the install button doesn't do anything, nor the arrow down button for additional options, and the update forces the focus so not only can I not use the software, I can't even close it without using Ctrl-Alt-Del, nor access the website from the "Learn more" until I have shut down the software. This is a massive oversight and I would appreciate support to be able to use it again.
Thanks, Kevin.

Sorry, I wrote 2020.3, I meant 2021.3. I'd edit, or delete the thread and repost, but apparently neither option is available.

Back when the 2021.1 update was issued "some" people had to DE-activate and UN-install then download the demo (which included the update) to do a fresh install... and, of course, activate with their serial number

Thank you for the help. I waited for a while and now it works. Really not sure what changed but I'll take it. Thanks again.

I think what changes is how busy the Adobe servers are. Waiting patently seems to have helped others too!

Ah that makes sense, although if that's the case, the updater should account for that and not only time out, but allow for the user to just close it and not steal the focus from my entire computer, especially since the "update on exit" option exist. Here's hoping they improve that aspect.

I have the same exact problem. This "Update" makes the software unusable unless I am off line Thge update does not work. I would rather not uninstall and risk losing the software. Adobe does not seem to be a very good tech company if a simple update can't be executed with destroying the software.
Anybody at Adobe Home? Planning to fix this in the next update?

It works, so I can't guess why you are having trouble. What version are you updating?

I'm having the same problem. When I open Premiere it immediately opens a box saying I have an update, but then freezes and the application is inoperable. I can do nothing else except open Task Manager and close the app.
What's up?
