I can confirm this is happening in 24.1.0.26 - typing any character or space accepts the edit and exits edit mode. This happens whether entering edit by double-clicking, pencil icon, or hitting Enter.
Not happening when editing in the Program Monitor.
When bugs like this occur in the Beta version, they are generally fixed quickly. But we can never know, because it depends on the cause and how the bug is related to other factors.
There is no new Beta this morning so far.
Generally, you can't roll back the Beta, so for now, edit in the Program Monitor.
Build 27 no change. Thanks for working on this Kristen.
Notice this time that, if a caption is selected in the timeline, entering edit mode in that caption in the Text panel results in an instant close (exit edit mode).
Just FYI, I don't know if I just didn't notice, or if it is changing some. Sometimes when you double click a caption in the timeline or text panel, but it will open for editing and immediately close. Sometimes you can get into the edit in the Text panel, but adding any character, even a space, save and closes.
In any event, still present in Build 29. It has generated at least one report a day. A good sign that the feature is being used. A bad sign that it is serious enough to motivate posting! Growing pains....
yes, due to a bug right now you can't edit double line caption segments in the Text panel, it won't open into text correction mode. You'll have to make edits through the Program Monitor
This should be fixed with the other bug we were talking about, I'll post here once the fix made it into beta.
I confirm it is fixed. Single line and multi-line captions; enter editing by double click, pencil icon, and enter key. Can edit in Text Panel and Program Monitor.
