Media intelligence support

Community Beginner ,

Version: 25.2

Windows 10

I understand that this a brand new feature, but I want to get an answer maybe about what is going on. While using the new media intelligence feature, after all my footage has been analysed, I get a report saying "Complete with errors" and a lot of my footage seems to be stuck at 89% complete. The media that is marked with this 89% complete mark does not show up in the search window (as one would expect). Luckaly, this feature is in beta and can be looked at. So Adobe, what is this, and is it something you can fix? This is a game changer when it comes to culling through the hundreds of hours of footage I have and I'd like to see this preform as efficent as possible. Thanks!

I have some pictures below to give you all a better sence what im talking about.

Hi @lee_0646

Thanks for trying out our new feature! We're super excited about it too.
We are aware of this bug and are working on a fix.
What build are you currently in?
If you close and re-start the app, do the files that were stuck get re-analyzed?
What happens if you bring those specific files into their own project?
Do they still fail or is analysis complete?

Thanks so much for taking the time to share your feedback. This is super helpful to get the feature rock solid for release.

Cheers

if by build you mean my pc build, I work on an older pc:

Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-9600K CPU @ 3.70GHz 3.70 GHz
Installed RAM 64.0 GB
Device ID C0BE28C5-06A0-41FF-AD5A-0F02DCBD6038
Product ID 00326-10000-00000-AA296
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

also, my GPU is an MSI 2060.

If I close the app, I lose the progress bar altogether. I can no longer see
what has been analysed at all. The search function works, but it still does
not reference the footage that got stuck at 89. It would be useful if there
was a pulldown in the "Search" window that allowed you to see all the
footage that has been analysed (successfully or not) so in case there is
something that is impossible for the AI to analyze, you could know. Maybe
make a filter system to show all the incomplete or unobtainable footage.
That way you could know what search won't look through, and give you the
option to throw that footage in a scrub track for manual scrubbing and
searching.

In regards to bringing those files into a new project, I have done this.
The clips it has decided to skip are all long in runtime. Could this have
something to do with my problem? I'm talking, an hour +. Some fail or
don't complete and some do, but the long ones especially do not seem to
work well. I have a lot of long clips, so if this is an issue that's not on
my side, I would really love to see that fixed. If it is an issue on my
side I'd like to know what I can do to use this feature better.

That should address all of your questions. I will post any other findings
of note on the forum. Thank you for your time and I cannot WAIT for this
feature to be fully operational. This is a game changer for Doc work.

Hi @lee_0646

Thank you so much for your thoughtful feedback and sending your system specs. I'm passing on the feedback about filtering for un-analyzed clips to the team.

I'm so silly and asked for your build with some inside baseball jargon-- my apologies for that.
I meant to ask, "What Beta build number are you on?" You can go to the top bar Help menu > About Premier Pro and it will pop-up a screen that will say something like "25.2 x 100" for example. We took a stab at fixing the "Complete with Errors" bug, but I suspect it still needs some work. Would you mind updating to today's Beta build and letting me know if you're still seeing this bug? It's currently build number 110 and will be 111 later today if it passes.

Additionally, it sounds like there may be a separate issue with clips over an hour long. Would you be able to share some of these clips with me?
You can Direct Message me on this platform with a WeTransfer link or whatever method you prefer. I'd love to see if I can repro what you're seeing on my end.

Thank you SO much!

Ah, that makes sense. The build number is 108.

So the problem files I have actually seem to not be a problem anymore. It
happened initially I think because I opened an existing Premiere file into
the beta. I think that's why I was having so many issues. After making a
new project it helped a little but I had similar issues. However, I deleted
and reinstalled my beta program and created a completely new project file
with all the same footage and it analyzed almost immediately. This time
with no issues. So I think the long runtime thing was maybe just a fluke on
my end.

I tried to replicate the initial problem already and I can't, so I guess
that's good news. Maybe look into opening up an old project file and see if
these problems become apparent, as I think that's what caused a lot of my
problems. Or not haha, whatever is helpful to the program.

I would still love to see that pulldown to see the analyzed footage, as it
dose disappears when you close and reopen right now.

Other than that, I think my problem is solved. I'll do some more digging
just incase opening a standard premiere file in the beta is NOT in fact the
reason it got all wonky on me.

Thanks so much for the attentive help. I really appreciate it.

That's awesome news @lee_0646

We are in active development on this feature so it's totally possible that your old project for borked in an older Beta build. Very happy to hear you're back in action.

I've shared the request to be able to filter for un-analysed clips and have shared that back with the team, and again I thank you for your time and thoughtful responses.

Have an awesome day and let us know if you think of any other things that you would like to be able to do with Media Intelligence.

Cheers,
