New FX badge gets in the way of single left click and drag

The design of the new FX badges is great and clicking on them once to take you to Effects Controls is great as well, however the badge now gets in the way of clicking and dragging clips that are small in the timeline. In prevoius versions the FX badge needed to be right clicked on to open a drop down menu, but now a single left click registers a selection on that icon and disables clicking on the clip itself to move it.

The FX badge should active on releasing the click, not on the click itself. This way a single left click can be clicked and held to grab and move a clip, but a single left click that is released (as most clicks are when intentionally selecting an icon) will activate the FX badge and take you to the Effects Controls. The present behavior requires a lot of change on the users part.

Hi all! Hope everyone is doing great. Want to give an update to all of you as promised. In the latest Beta we have fixed the badges mouse click implementation, so that you can move a small clip even if you click on the badges. The FX badge is not being active on the click action anymore. If the intention is to move the clip, we won't open the ECP and you will be able to move the clip freely in the timeline. If you click and release without moving the clip itself, it will open the ECP or the ESP

Took me a while to realise why my timeline keyboard shortcuts weren't working after clicking on a clip *sometimes* - if the clip is small (too small to even see the FX logo) then effects window is given focus almost every time.

Workaround is to hide FX badges when you don't need them.

Agree, this is incredibly annoying. I now need to zoom in enough to make sure I'm not clicking the FX area which slows me down.

To Adobe - This also happens with the other badges that aren't disabled. IDEALLY when the timeline is zoomed out and tracks are small, the badges should disappear and only reappear when zoomed in enough to have more 'clickable real estate' for lack of a better term 🙂 Cheers
