New Sequence Dialogue Box Scaling

1. I'm using Adobe Premiere Pro 2024 Beta

2. Windows 10 Enterprise Version 22H2.

3. Opening a New Sequence or opening the Sequence Settings Dialogue Box.

4. When I want to open a new sequence, the dialogue box that pops up doesn't scale to fit my system. When opening on my laptop screen, it is too large and it doesn't have the ability to manually drag the size around to fit. I have to move it to an external monitor with larger screen space to see the bottom of the dialogue box.

The Sequence Settings box has the same issue.

Re-scale a dialog box in Adobe Premiere Elements

In Adobe Premiere Elements, a dialog box that appears too large for your screen is usually caused by your operating system's display scaling settings

. You cannot resize these dialog boxes from within Premiere Elements itself.

For Windows

Close Premiere Elements.
Right-click on your desktop and select Display settings.
Under the "Scale & layout" section, locate the setting that says Change the size of text, apps, and other items.
Change the value to a lower percentage, such as 100% or 125%. For many users, reducing this from a higher setting (e.g., 150%) has resolved the issue.
Restart your computer and open Premiere Elements again. The dialog boxes should now fit properly on your screen.

If the above steps don't work, you can override the high DPI settings for the Premiere Elements application specifically.

Navigate to the Premiere Elements installation folder. This is typically located at C:\Program Files\Adobe\Premiere Elements
Right-click the Premiere Elements.exe file and select Properties.
Go to the Compatibility tab and click Change high DPI settings.
Check the box for Override high DPI scaling behavior.
From the dropdown menu below it, choose System and click OK.
Restart Premiere Elements.

For macOS

On your Mac, choose the Apple Menu > System Settings > Displays.
Try a different scaled resolution setting. For some older Macs, Premiere Elements dialog boxes require at least a Full HD (1920x1080) resolution to display correctly.

Alternative temporary fix

You can also temporarily solve the problem by connecting your computer to a lower resolution 1920x1080 monitor or possibly a larger, higher-resolution monitor or TV using an HDMI cable. This will allow the dialog box to display correctly on the larger screen.

Same issue here - why not just allow dialogue boxes to be resized, rather than users having to reconfigure their screen resolutions?

I don’t edit from onedrive. I edit local from the desktop and external drives. The file extension you’re seeing is the company mandated backup of our computer to onedrive. Unfortunately can’t turn that off without IT admin. The full file extension shows that I work from desktop locally. Also back up to few different places, local and cloud. Thanks for the tip though!

When I move the resolution to 1920x1080, everything is miniscule and is against the recommended resolution settings for my system (6840 x 2160). I can barely read the text at 1920x1080. Is there a way we can add the option to rescale the box so it will work with computer systems that have a larger native resolution?
