Premiere pro has problem with .TS video files

Hello,

About the last version of Premiere Pro and Premiere Pro beta :

when I try to play .TS video file in them, I have noticed that the image and the sound of the video are not synchronized. 

I have no problem of playing this .TS video file inside VLC player, so I don't understand why Premiere Pro is unable to play it correctly.

I dont think Premiere supports .ts files.

On a side note: VLC is a player, Premiere is a NLE.

So I have tried to use Adobe Media Encoder to convert the TS file.

Media Encoder says me it is possible to convert TS file to MXF file only, so I convert it.

But Premiere Pro is also unable to play correctly MXF file (if I try to play the MXF file in Premiere Pro, I have the same problem : between the image and the sound it is not synchronized).

Could you advise me a good converter with professional results, that could convert TS to MP4 ?

Can you post a representative .ts file? [My old camera made .ts files, and PPro handled them without issue...]

In Adobe Media encoder, I have just tried to convert the TS file to H264, but the result : I have an MP4 file with the same problem : if I play it, the sound and the image are not synchronized.

I have downloaded this video file (TS in 720 P) on this page with the software "Internet download manager"(https://www.internetdownloadmanager.com/). I can play this TS file in VLC with no problem, but unable to play it correctly in Premiere Pro.

Can you use a VPN in order to download it from the page I have given to you ?

I have tried to download the TS file on Creative cloud in order you could download it, and I can see the thumbnail of the TS file, but under it, it is written "OCTET" and I cannot play it, so it is not possible to dowload it on creative cloud.

The app i use to download merge the segments to a functional mp4 file so i cannot reproduce the issue with a ts file.

I tried (using a French VPN); still doesn't work. 

If you can provide a representative .ts file, we'd be happy to pursue the issue further.

As creative cloud does not accept TS file, could you indicate me another site that could allow me to download my TS file in order you could download it, and where to send you the download link if I want to send you the download link in private mode ?

I have just download my TS file in the creative cloud folder you sent me, but I had an error message at the end of the download, and again I can see the TS file with "OCTET" under it (instead of TS).

Please verify if you received it.

Always about the problematic TS file you have received the 24th of august 2021.

The 24th of auhust 2021 you said "Sync seems erratic with this file. We are tracking the issue as DVAFM-5250".

We are the 14th of April 2022, and with the last version of Premiere Pro Beta I have always the same problem by playing TS file.

Do you think you could fix the issue soon ?

No work against DVAFM-5250 has yet been scheduled. Your email address is in the bug; we'll let you know of any updates. 

How was this .ts file produced? Does every .ts file produced in the same way, produce the same results?

Yes, I have the same problem between Premiere Pro Beta and TS files (all TS files), when I try to play TS files with Premiere Pro Beta.

I have noticed that with VLC media player I have no problem of playing TS files.

I hope Premiere Pro Beta will support TS file soon.

That support is present in PPro (beta and release), today, for valid .ts files. My old camcorder produces .ts files, and I've used PPro to edit them for ~15 years. 🙂 The file you provided seems to have invalid index information.
