Using test edit in Premiere Pro Beta (23.6 Build 13) and the search bar doesn't actually search the whole transcript. I tmight provide me with one or two, but I also have the old transcription of the same sequence and I know the phrases I'm trying to jump to on the timeline exist, the program just won't find it. I'm talking simple words like "fun", it won't find

Hannah,
Are you sure you have the whole transcript in the view you have? For example, if you are in the Sequence view, you only see the transcript of what is in the timeline. You should see the whole transcript if the full clip is in the sequence.
Are you in the Source monitor looking at the full clip? Can you scroll to where the missing words should be? Are they there?
I am only on 23.6.0 Build 7, and my transcript may not be long enough to show the problem.

It is a pretty long sequence, but yes, the transcript for the whole sequence is in the Transcript window. I've found things I was looking for manually, but the search function doesn't

Thank you for reporting this issue.
There has been a change in one of the recent builds that causes the search to only find "whole word" matches, which might have been what you are seeing. Updating to todays beta build should restore the search capabilities to also find partial matches.
Best regards,
Alexander

Thanks! I updated to Build 18, and partial matches are found. The Replace icon has been moved to below the search box, and the next/previous arrows are now on the right side on that same line as replace. It seemed odd. I had not noticed that before.
But the panel does not scroll, so as I click "next" to move through the search results, the results are off-screen. This happens whether autoscroll is on or off.

Thank you for trying this out!
Tomorrows build will have a fix to re-enable the correct tracking of the currently active monitor for sequences. As a workaround you can click on the source monitor and back on the program monitor to re-enable the player tracking.
Best regards,
Alexander

I am having same issue with transcript on the PC software version 23.6.0 build 65. the script is not auto scrolling along with the timeline. it is stuck highlighted on a random word. in the search feature the next and pervious buttons jump to the word on the timeline but the script doesn't move. I tried the trick of jumping between source and program but it didn't work. please advise. I have 65 interviews that are 3 hours long each. it was working before the upgrade and this is really slowing down my process.

It is working correctly for me in 23.6. In the Transcript tab, search jumps to the found words, and it scrolls as needed to keep the transcript section on screen. It also jumps to the correct section of the timeline.
I am in timeline/sequence view with a source media transcript - it is the full transcript since I have the whole source clip in the timeline.

Update. When i change work space to text-based editing everything work great like supposed to. Don't know why it is not working in other workspace but at this point i am not complaining. I can finally get back to working at full speed.
