This is still happening a/o Oct 31 2022. On a M1 MBP with OS 12.6 and PPv23 build 63.

You are in the Beta forum. The latest Beta version is 23.1.0 Build 57. I have not tested it for this problem.

Here is a thread in the regular forum that deals with similar issue in version 23.0.0. I could not replicate it in that version, and some users describe it as variable.

When I saw your post, tested in Beta 22.2.0 Build 19: still worked.

Updated to Build 21. Split and Merge: neither works in Transcript nor Caption tab.

Mapping keyboard shortcuts does work.

Build 25. Does not work. Shortcuts do.

The keyboard shortcuts I mention are unmapped by default. I set "Split caption segment under CTI" to Ctrl+Alt+Y and merge to Ctrl+Alt+U. For split, place the CTI in the desired location; press Ctrl+Alt+Y. For merge, select two adjacent captions; press Ctrl+Alt+U.

Thank you for the the workaround! I just updated to Build 25 and experienced the same also.

Build 33: same. Split and Merge buttons do not work in both Transcript and Captions tab. Keyboard shortcuts work.

NEW BUG: With this build (I last updated to 29 prior to 33), the Create Transcript Dialogue (invoked by either Create transcript or Re-transcribe) and the Create Captions dialogue are not dismissed when they run; cannot be dimissed by the Cancel button; but using the "x" works.

In the case of the Create captions, you can see that the captions have been created, but the dialogue is still there.

In the case of the Create transcript, it looks like it does not work, but when you "x" out, the transcript text appears.

Edit: Installed Build 35. The New Bug I describe is fixed. Sorry I didn't see there was an update!

I just wanted to add that I also rebooted my Mac, re-launched Premiere Beta and attempted to perform the Split Segment Transcript command right after launching. Split Segment does not even function, even though you can click on it. I can edit the transcript text without issue, but I just cannot perform a Split Segment.

However, the function continues to work without issue within the last stable release, Premiere 22.0.0 (Build 169)
