Adobe Premiere version 2025 gives me errors all the time

Adobe Premiere version 2025 gives me errors all the time. The program has never crashed so much as it does now. I'm losing files all the time. As soon as I start adding sound and video effects, the program becomes stupid. Version 2024 was much more stable and didn't give me so many problems. Could you please review this version and fix the many problems it gives me? I'm too lazy to switch to Davinci. If not, I will install version 2024 again. Thank you very much.

Get a couple good sized USB hubs that have power supplies into them via a separate transformer plugged into an electrical outlet.

And test performance with your USB devices plugged in one way, then swap a couple devices from one hub to another. It's trial and error.

The last time I did this, the change that got everything working was swapping an HDMI to USB input from a DSLR camera used for recording me at the computer, and the input from my ATEM Mini Pro unit.

Because for some reason while OBS showed the camera input, Zoom would not. Swapped the hubs the two were plugged into, voila!

I also have a lot of USB devices plugged into my machine and believe they're the source of many ills.  Can you recommend a reliable USB hub or do you have some other approach to this?

Frustration? Oh, that we all understand! It's part of Life (in my several decades) of computer-based work. I've posted some truly epic rants here myself ... oh, yea.

And the unpleasant changes from anything updating or changing in your system can be brutal.

For example, I'm running a four monitor 24 core system, I've got among peripherals a mixer, Wacom tablet, Tangent Elements control panel, audio in and out/preamps, video systems, trackball, additional tablet hooked in via USB for use as a "virtual" Tangent panel, and geez ... 28 USB cords in all to be connected to my system.

Many of them take enough resources that how they are managed ... what USB hubs they port into ... is crucial. So I note in painfull detail what everything is plugged into.

And yet, I've moved that system three times in the last 15 months, and every time, it will not work when connected exatly as  before. So I've had to spend 3-5 hour doing nothing but trying different devices plugged in differently, until everything works.

This ... is high drudgery to me. The entire time I must resist simply grabbing things and throwing them at the concrete floor as hard as possible ...

Oh, yea, I get someone feeling frustrated with this stuff!

Thanks for the reply. Maybe I went too far with the comment. I wrote it when I was very very frustrated. It's true. I should have cleared the cache and removed the plugins I had installed. I think the conflict might be due to that. But it has never given me as much trouble as it is now. Yesterday I uninstalled everything and reinstalled clean. And I also installed version 2024 just in case. Yesterday it seemed to work better. It didn't hang. I hope it has stabilized and is working better. Next time I will update premiere in the summer when I don't have so much work. Thanks for your comment.

First, as a user of some time, I do not ever recommend uninstalling previous versions. Keep them for "at need" use. You won't often need them,  but if you do, it can save your backside.

Second ... on working in a new version, always dump the cache files before starting a new project in it. Or migrating a project forward. Dumping your cache files might fix a good share of your ills.

The last comment ... each major new version always includes changes to the underlying code due to hardware updates. Especially relying on the newer, more powerful hardware avaialable out there. So ... it gets harder on older kit.

That's computer Life. So what your gear is, is important to figure out where you might have issues with 25.x.

Hi Xavier Pijuan,

We're sorry about the poor experience. We will get it checked. Please share the system specs (OS, CPU, GPU & RAM). Let us know if you are getting any crash reports or error messages.

Thanks,

Sumeet
