Essential Graphics - Can't delete graphic elements by selecting them on the Program screen (Macbook)

When editing or creating a grpahic in Essential Graphics in Premeire Pro on my Macbook, you are forced to select and delete an element, like a shape or text line, on the Essential Graphics window pane.

It's really really annoying that we cannot just select the element we want to delete by selecting the it in the Program window and hitting "delete". You actually have to find it in the list of items that makeup your graphic and select and delete it there!  Especially when you have several shapes in your graphic, I have to go down the list until I find the right one.

It's counter intuitive! Why even allow selection of the items in a graphic if you are limited and not able to delete them?

Please make it to where we can select an object, shape or text line within the program window and simply hit "delete" to get rid of it. Having to find it in the Essentials Graphic pane is a PAIN!!

Thank you!!

I know it seems minor to some, but it really drives me nuts!

Tested on PC in PR 24.2.1. Select in Program Monitor and hit delete key works.

Did this used to work for you? What PR version are you using?

Yes that would drive me nuts!

Also test your delete key shortcut by selecting and using Edit -> Clear.

If you believe it used to work, I would first reset workspace to saved and then reset preferences.

Hey @rogerh68874175,

The keyboard shortcut on Mac for clearing is fn + delete (whereas it is Delete on Win). You can change this in Keyboard Shortcuts menu, search for clear.

Cheers,

Theresa
