FrameIOv4 Bug Hunt/Missing Features

I'm experiencing several bugs in the 'new' v4 panel and like many I regret updating.  Shame really as it was a huge selling point and time saver.

Running Premiere Pro V25.3 - PC w11. 4k Prorez LT

1. Uploading via the panel seems to be throttled, its painfully slow to upload(2mbit compared to 10+ on chrome/frameIO transfer)

2. If you cancel an upload via the panel the local file gets deleted, even if you specify a custom destination

3. Sequence markers don't upload with the sequence.  This happens within the v4 Panel or with markers embedded into the file and manually (worked in v3)

4. No option to manually sync markers like with v3.  or not sync markers, see below.

5. Sequence markers are getting modified/moved in my sequence when I load the frameIO comments panel on a previously uploaded export.  eg: Swap 2 markers, update them, load the comments and the markers swap back.  Sequence markers in premier need to be the MASTER version.  This is important for tracking VFX shots via markers.

6. Like the previous but worse, a 'Manually linked' Sequence has its new markers DELETED in a previously uploaded sequence when reloading the comments panel. This even happens on a new copy of the sequence. This seems to be only when the cut is uploaded externally and manually linked. Working Example: Upload sequence to frameIO, I Manually link in premier, Client adds comments. I sync comments. close panel, Continue to edit.. add my own markers, open v4 comments panel and all of my new comments are gone.

7. Uploading multiple sequences via Media Encoder doesn't send a second sequence to ME or hangs Premier.

8. Save local Copy forgets location of previous uploads. Also this should really be on by default.

9. No way of organizing uploaded sequences within premier like in v3.  We need the ability to move the stack and create folders.

Thats it so far.. would be great to know if some of these are already in hand.

Thanks for tagging me @11702043. Hey @JimmyTagg, I'm the Product Manager of the Frame.io integrations into Premiere Pro, and therefore directly responsible for the issues you're seeing. We're aware of a number of these issues, but you mentioned a few we haven't seen. Could we set up some time to chat? Email me at psouthern@adobe.com, and we can set up some time to go over your issues.

thankyou Stan..

I spent 2 days emailing frameIO support and didnt get anywhere. they didnt understand the problem and would link to/cut and paste responses to the wrong features. They did say they passed on my feedback so hopefully its made it to the relevent people.

They didnt offer any eta or roadmap to fixes so im at a loss and stuck with v4

I'd also send such detailed points directly to frame.io support. It's been 7 days with no response, and I've seen much better response from their direct support.

https://help.frame.io/en/articles/9092154-frame-io-support

That page lists options, including Chat, which they prefer, and an email address. In this instance, with such a compelling list, I'd do both: post in a chat and send an email. And in both, I'd paste a link to your post here.

I'm flagging their key staff person, because I know he wants to improve the product and their response.

@Patrick Southern

While Adobe bought frame.io, it has its own product that is independent of PR. I'd like more guidance on how best to get support.

This may or may not help ... I've seen Frame.io users with problems in the frame panel either sign out/in, and get functions back ... or close the frame panel in Premiere, reopen, and things worked better.

There do seem to be sporadic issues around the users for this at times. Frustrating, you bet.

Everyone's mileage always varies ...
