HALF FRAME MUTE /DELAY AUDIO H264 H265 IN PREMIERE PRO

We are working with an audio partner who has noticed that our mp4s made in h264 (and sometimes h265) are mute for approx half a frame. The same is true of Media Encoder and Premiere pro.

When we import these into Premiere Pro the Waveform aligns with the WAV supplied by the partner.
But in Davinci you can see there is a muted and delayed half frame.

Exporting the same audio clip from Davinci to mp4 we aren't seeing the same delay/muting.

The Quicktime is fine.

I would love to have a workaround for this so that we can continue to deliver Mp4s from Premiere or Media Encoder.

Hi @Odobe
 We have reliably reproduced the issue internally, and the bug is still being worked on.

@Rach McIntire I wondered if there was any update on this?

Hi @Odobe,

I've filed a bug report with the team. Hopefully, we can find a solution soon.

@Rach McIntire @Dani_V.

Hello - I realise the latency was about playback.
This is about guaranteeing an encode doesn't have a delay when an h264 is in an mp4 wrapper.
We're about to be pushed to move away from encoding any more mp4 from Premiere or Media Encoder as we can't seem to export an Mp4 without this visible in the waveform in Protools or Davinci which is how our audio partner is viewing the waveforms.

Please as a matter of urgency can you test a WAV audio into an Mp4 and look at it at the audio units level but outside of Premiere pro and let me know if you can successfully export?

Thank you.

@FlyingFourFun @Rach McIntire

I will test this today.
But also if you can export an mp4 without this delay please can you share you settings?

@Odobe  Interesting.  There goes that theory.  Did @FlyingFourFun's suggestion make a difference?

Is there any chance that delay is related to the preferance setting for audio hardware;  I think the default is 200ms but there are other options...  I cant test it properly to know for sure, but its an easy change for you to make/test if your interested.

@Rach McIntire @Dani_V.  Hmm... I'm still getting this delay when the mp4 made in CBR is viewed in Davinci vs when viewed in Premiere - I'd love to be able to reassure our clients and audio partners. If our audio partners view the CBR in Protools and see the same delay we can't deliver from Media Encoder or Premiere - any ideas?

@Rach McIntire Thank you - ill try using a non vbr export and see if that remedies it - and i think it could be about the interpretation too, cheers
