mask do not work in 2024 version of premiere pro

When I try to mask on any of the 2024 versions it stops the playback and won't let me do anything else.

At the bottom, it shows the mask is applied but you can't see it in the playback and the video won't play.
I'm able to use a mask in the oldest 2023 version. Is this the case with everyone or is there a solution?

I reinstalled, and reset preferences nothing seems to work accept using the 2023 version.
