Premiere Pro Initialization Failure - “Too many levels of symbolic links” Error

Hi Good Peoples :),

I'm encountering an issue when trying to launch Adobe Premiere Pro on my Mac. I receive an error message that reads:

Initialization Failure
boost::filesystem::status: Too many levels of symbolic links:
"/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/Plug-ins/7.0/MediaCore/Digital Anarchy/Beauty Box AE 5.0.14/Uninstall.app"

It seems to be related to a third-party plugin (Digital Anarchy's Beauty Box), and the error mentions "too many levels of symbolic links," which I believe indicates a symbolic link loop or a corrupted reference.

System Info:

  • macOS version: [insert your macOS version]

  • Premiere Pro version: [insert Premiere version]

  • Plugin involved: Beauty Box AE 5.0.14

Steps I've Tried:

  • Restarted my Mac

  • Attempted to locate the plugin folder

  • Tried removing and reinstalling the plugin (unsuccessfully)

I Find a temporary solution, Every time I open premiere pro I reset some things after click open premiere pro hold shift + option (alt) and select three option and okay It'll open,

But we need permanent solution for this Error.

Thank you for Advance:)

Hi @Mohamed_Afirudeen8634,

Thank you for submitting a report and sorry for the frustration.

What macOS version are you on and was this or Premiere Pro updated recently at all? If you remove the plug-in without re-installing, are you able to start Premiere Pro? Might there be any duplicate or broken files of this plug-in within the Plug-ins folder?

Hope we can help you soon,
Dani
