No audio playback even though sound bars are moving

For some reason, in the midst of editing, my audio just turned off. The green bars on the right side show audio playing, but nothing is coming out of my headphones.

Yes, audio works in other parts of my computer, such as YouTube and Overwatch 2. Yes, I checked to make sure my audio output device was correct. I've restarted my computer, uninstalled and reinstalled the app, and cleared my cache -- I've done everything I found on the Adobe help page and on Reddit. It's incredibly frustrating and I have no idea how to fix it!!!

Thank you for this!

I had the same wacky problem. I just moved from a Mac Pro to a PC for the first time and although the Premier interface is perfectly the same, the underlying Windows 11 Laptop is not!   (I promise not to go into the whole "Mac just works" diatribe 8-)

Could you possibly send me in the direction of a cheat sheet that might point out some of these anomoly's that everyone has to look out for?

Thanks!

Yes, I checked to make sure my audio output device was correct.

In the OS, or in PPro?

Richard's suggestion is a good one. The behavior you've described is similar to what happens when (for example) bluetooth headphones become available (or unavailable) during a given PPro session...

Could we have a screen shot of your audio hardware settings. If it isn't already try setting your default input to none.
