No "Timeline" settings in the "Preferences" of Version 24.0

Explorer ,
Oct 18, 2023 Oct 18, 2023

Installed a trial of the new version of PR on my laptop to give it a test run of the 24.0. Reinstalled 3 times already but I can't see the Timeline settings in the Preferences.

Is it just me or my machine?

Hoping anyone could chime in. Thanks.

Hello, @RMMedia and others on the thread,

We have a repeatable issue, so it's likely a bug that needs addressing. However, the team could use a bit more information about your system and media in order to reproduce the issue and fix it.

One thing I am wondering about is your Premiere Pro licensing. Are you in an enterprise or educational environment? Let us know.

Thanks,

Kevin

Anyone currently in version 24.0 have this problem?

@RMMedia Hm, I don't see this on my systems. While I don't usually like to advise resetting your preferences as the first step, this is a case where that might need to happen. Could you try this?

  1. Quit Premiere Pro
  2. Hold the Shift key, then launch Premiere Pro again
  3. Check only "Reset App Preferences"
  4. Click Continue

Does that fix it?

Tried resetting the Preferences but still same. I found this issue also on reddit with the same version 24.0.

Thanks for the reply. At least I know now that I'm not alone with this problem or it is unique a bug seen only by me.

I have used the workaround posted in the reddit thread page to continue use version 24.0 for me to change settings in the missing part of the preferences.

Try installing Creative Cloud Desktop and enable all settings in the "Sync Settings" section. My Timeline settings enabled by doing that.

Sync Settings are supposed to be there. Here's what a full list of prefences looks like in 24.1

@ianlf10

you have a different question, please make a new thread and post comp specs, Premiere version and build.
Also screenshots of MediaInfo info in Treeview on footage used, sequence settings and export settings.

I do not have a different question. I'm asking if anyone has seen this issue being resolved with the latest premiere release.

You do have a different question: It's not related to the OPs original question.

Correct - it is a BUG in the latest version.
Workaround is to copy your prefs file from 2023 version and replace 2024 file.
Or, edit the prefs file directly (make sure PPro is closed while you do this).

C:\Users\Name\Documents\Adobe\Premiere Pro\24.0\Profile-Name\Adobe Premiere Pro Prefs

edit or add the settings you want.

thanks Reddit for the correct answers. As usual.
