Hi @Gorilla_pee28978096jrid - This is a known issue that has been fixed in the beta version 25.1 known issues

Issue: Windows customers may see an “Import Files” dialog box that never completes in the following conditions:

  • The Learn, LibrariesFrame.io panel, or any panel listed in Windows > Extensions, is turned on.
  • An AAF, Final Cut Pro XML, or EDL file is being imported.

Workaround: When importing these file types, first close the above-listed panels. The panels can be turned on again after the import has been completed.

When importing a AE project into Premiere, eventually it see the comp within the AE project, you click on it and the import get's stuck and never finishes.

Running the latest version of all Adobe apps. Trashed preferences, didn't help. Tried a fresh project PP and AE, still doesn't work...

This is simply a broken feature now, but there's a work around....

Drag the AE project itself from your explorer/finder (if also a Mac OS problem, haven't tested) into your project folder withing PP, select the comp, it imports perfectly.. Just seems to be a bug with the normal file menu import workflow... seems bizarre, it's the same dynamic link process that's happening, just a different starting point.. Anyway, hope this helps someone, I am mid project and having to turn around edits and this really panicked me.

I'm sure Adobe tests things pretty well, and perhaps this is system specific, but considering it's broken from a fresh project with nothing in it.. seems like a quite obvious bug to find..

We think we may have addressed this issue already; could you try the latest PPro beta build, and see whether the import succeeds?

1. Synced 3 camera s in plural eyes.
2. exported xml
3. Import XML in Premiere. Opening project works, but then Premiere 25 Hangs at: Import Files.

Back to 24.3... 😌

Because in 24.3 it just works fine and fast:

(After 24.3 there was the MXF Long Glitch bug, so I can not use newer 24.x versions.)

Hi, I just updated to version 25 and I can't import AE files
When I open AE it asks me to update the file to the latest version, I do it but in Premiere it gets stuck on the importing file message and does nothing.

Hi everyone,

After updating to version 25.1 of Adobe Premiere Pro, I encountered an issue that prevents me from importing PSD files. The floating "Import File" window keeps loading indefinitely and never actually imports the file.

I’ve tried several solutions: uninstalling and reinstalling the program, and even testing with other files (which import without any problems). However, the PSD files still won’t import correctly.

Has anyone else experienced this issue? Any suggestions or solutions for this bug?

I really appreciate your attention and any help you can provide!

Best regards,

We believe that problem is fixed in the current 25.1 beta. [The official release version is 25.0]

Olá boa tarde, já estou usando as novas versões dos aplicativos e estou enfrentando um problema. Eu prefiro fazer a composição no after, salvar e ai importar para dentro do projeto do premiere. Conforme PRINT abaixo:

VGA 1060 6GB EVGA FTW+

Esqueci de configurar alguma coisa? Alguém enfrentando o mesmo problema? Obrigado e aguardo uma resposta!

Hello @cesar_abud,
I was not able to translate your message. Here's what I was able to understand. You wrote:

"I'm already using the new versions of the apps, and I'm having a problem. I prefer to do the composition in After Effects, save it, and then import it into the Premiere project. As per the PRINT below:

After it finds the file and lists the compositions, I select the one I want to import and press OK. The import screen appears and won't go away.

I've tried leaving it for a while, but I believe it's a bug in the new version because the apps aren't processing anything in the task manager.

So to get around this bug for now, I'm having to add an adjustment layer to the Premiere project timeline, then change it to the After Effects sequence, with that the link is created and it's working. My machine, i7 6700k 32mb RAM 2133mhz Software running on SAMSUNG SSD Project on one NVMe, and cache on another NVMe VGA 1060 6GB EVGA

Did I forget to configure something? Is anyone facing the same problem? Thanks, and I await a response!"

I hope the developer team will respond shortly with a potential solution. Thanks for all the info.

Best,
Kevin

hello folks, this is quite a while which is happening on a WINDOWS Premiere Pro 2025 installation.

quite often happens this blocking fact: on the project window I click on IMPORT file and the import window is not showing and Premiere remains stuck and I try to click somewhere on the UI an alert sound like I am trying to do somwthing wrong is reproduced... I only have to forcefully close premiere loosing all the work...

Is this a known bug or is there a solution to make the import window appear somewhere to recover the status?

I have same problem on a very regular basis. In the past I would have expected it to be related to generating audio previews, but there are only (3) clips in the imported project

Hi!

With the 2 recent Beta version I can no longer import the XML from pluraleyes with all the synchronized video clips and audio files. This a super important part in my workflow since I shoot a lot of events with multiple cameras and audio recorders.

Premiere Beta get's stuck in this "import" panel and nothing happens for hours and hours. I have to cancel it to be able to continue using premiere.

I tried a possible solution: I had opend the official Premiere Pro version (24.6.1) and to the XML import there and then in Premiere Beta (25.1) import the created sequence from that project, but it also get's stuck in that Import panel.

The final "solution" I found was to open the Premiere Pro (24.6.1) file within Premiere Pro Beta (25.1), save it with a new name (I was forced to do it since it's from an older version) and then drag the sequence from that project into the other one.

Is there a new change into Premiere that will no longer support importing XML files from Pluraleyes? I fear that when the official version goes into 25.0 I will have the same problem there but there won't be a workaround anymore.

No intentional behavior changes have been made to PPro regarding XML from PluralEyes (which was discontinued by Maxon in February 2023).

Can you send us one such XML?
