Problem (which is with the progress bar, and not the actual .xml file) is already fixed in PPro betas, and will be fixed in PPro's next official release.

We've recently fixed a problem that seems related to what you've described; do you see the same problem, in the current PPro beta build?

Hi @Log.In agency

This is a known issue that has been fixed in the latest beta version of Premiere Pro. I am moving your post to the discussion that has been ongoing with this issue. Look for the fix to also be in 25.1 once released. In the meantime you can import XML's into the beta.

Thank you,

Ian

Versions : v25 for AE and PR

Platform and OS : Windows 11

TDLR: 2 issues - PR cannot import AE files + PR timeline disappears for some reason

Post update to the latest versions of After Effects and Premiere Pro (v25), when importing After Effects files (.aep) into Premiere Pro, Premiere Pro simply hangs on "Import Files..." loading screen and does not proceed further. Previous versions worked perfectly fine! File -> Adobe Dynamic Link -> Import AE composition works.

Once you manage to import AE composition, the timeline is glitchy and in many instances, simply does not appear, despite being functional (the AE composition plays on preview on PR)

How did this version pass quality control / get sign-off at Adobe for release? This is ridiculous; I made the terrible mistake of updating in the midst of a project.

I hope someone can help with your specific issues.

Clearly though, the forum posts here and the other places I participate show the vast majority of users are working in 25.x happily. It's not perfect for all users, naturally. And that's frustrating.

That thing with the disappearing clips on sequences is simply bizarre, and thankfully, not that widespread across the user base. BUT ... for those that have it, it is awful.

I had it in one of the public beta builds. At that point, setting the Preferences option for Scaling to "none" was the temp fix. I don't know if that would help you, or if this is an entirely different problem.

Hi @rehans50639690 - There are two things going on here.

1. There is a known issue with version 25 that has been fixed in version 25.1 with importing certain files here is a link to the known issues

Issue: Windows customers may see an “Import Files” dialog box that never completes in the following conditions:

  • The Learn, LibrariesFrame.io panel, or any panel listed in Windows > Extensions, is turned on.
  • An AAF, Final Cut Pro XML, or EDL file is being imported.

Workaround: When importing these file types, first close the above-listed panels. The panels can be turned on again after the import has been completed.

2. You can read this post a workaround is to navigating to your Preferences under General and make sure the checkbox is not selected under "GPU accelerated UI rendering".  Then restart your project.

Let us know if this helps your issue.

I add my voice to the others : I have the same issue. And I wont use a beta in production.
So, please fix the production software we pay every month ASAP. And by ASAP I mean : we are paying for this.
If this is fixed in beta ... why cant you roll it as an update in the production ?

I'm trying to upload a .prtextstyle caption file to my project and it keeps getting stuck on the "import files" window. I saw another user post about this a couple weeks ago and the solution was to update to the latest version, but I am already using the most recent update.

Just finshed  session with Adobe Support.
Premire just can't import a PSD. Does not matter if you chose Merged layers or sequence or individual layers.
The previous version is fine.
No error msg, just get stuck in the import progress dialog.

We understood that it's fixed in the beta, and will be fixed in the next release. But, when is the next release is the main concern now, as some of us dont want to work with a beta.

I already did, a while ago. But it's still relevant here because simply telling people to move to a beta version when the beta version has a pretty glaring accessibility issue is a bit on the nose frankly.
