Problem (which is with the progress bar, and not the actual .xml file) is already fixed in PPro betas, and will be fixed in PPro's next official release.

Hi @Reyna37134984uttm - I believe your issue is a known issue.

Issue: Windows customers may see an “Import Files” dialog box that never completes in the following conditions:

  • The Learn, LibrariesFrame.io panel, or any panel listed in Windows > Extensions, is turned on.
  • An AAF, Final Cut Pro XML, or EDL file is being imported.

Workaround: When importing these file types, first close the above-listed panels. The panels can be turned on again after the import has been completed.

@Bruce Bullis  sorry for the delay, I was rolled back to 25.0beta for a bit due to this issue making it impossible for me to work on the 25.1 beta -- I can confirm for you that in the current beta build (47) importing pluraleyes xml's seems to be working once again as per usual without needing to close any extension panels. Not sure what was going on there but glad to see it was resolved! thank you for identifying a potential work around in the meantime

We've recently fixed a problem that seems related to what you've described; do you see the same problem, in the current PPro beta build?

Hi @Log.In agency

This is a known issue that has been fixed in the latest beta version of Premiere Pro. I am moving your post to the discussion that has been ongoing with this issue. Look for the fix to also be in 25.1 once released. In the meantime you can import XML's into the beta.

Thank you,

Ian

The work around doesn't work for me. I tried removing literally every panel in my workspace and importing other premiere pro project files still hung. It's unfortunately not a silver bullet.

It's possible to use the beta to import your XML, then (using the same .prproj) move back to the official release for your other work.

I would not declare it fixed just yet.  The XML now imports without hanging but many media files do not link correctly. They display the missing frames stripes in the sequence, even though that is not correct.  The media is there.  Seems like a time code parsing issue.  The same XML generated by Resolve works perfectly fine in Premiere 24.x.

You're describing an entirely different issue, than the title topic.

If you can provide the .xml, and the media it's referencing, we'd be happy to pursue this new issue further. [Private upload space available upon request; let me know.]

Ok, got it, thanks. I will work in 2024, then I will move to 2025. I also
don't like that you removed the title editing from the graphic templates
tab. It was very convenient to do it in 2024.It would be great to have this
tab back in the new version, thanks

W10 Pro 64 - Premiere Pro 25.0.0 (build 61)

Bonjour,

Yea, you have to be careful that both the CC Desktop app's Preferences and the update dialog box when installing a new 'major version' do not have 'remove prior versions' checked. It is past annoying that even with the remove option deselected, the update dialog appears with it selected!

I have back through 2018 on my current main desktop, and have my old unit in 'backup' setup, that has (I think) clear back through the original CC version loaded.

You can still install the 24.x CC app, by the way.

Bonjour,

Best approach to getting help on the forums = one issue per thread, please.

The first issue (importing .aep, or other project types) is already fixed in beta builds, and will be fixed in the next official PPro release.

Hello Adobe Community

Since I've updated Premiere Pro 24 to Premiere Pro 25, I'm facing an "import" issue: when I want to add an After Effect composition to my project, I click on "Import", select my After Effect file, choosing my composition (so far the dynamic link seems to work) and when I click in the import button the importation process freeze 95% of the time. I have the popup wizard "Importing files" on screen, but the progression bar is never progressing and nothing is happening. Are you facing the same issues (FYI: I'm using windows on this computer and I will try on a Mac ti see if it's also happening on IOS).

Thank you.

Tom
