See the video.

Steps to reproduce: add a 1920x1080 imageonto a 1920x1080 project timeline, reduce the scale. At 49% the image jumps and becomes much smaller.

Premiere Pro v.25, all the settings reset, caches cleaned.

It's on CUDA and OpenCL in 14700K+4080

On Mercury all is OK

I see this too in 25.0 b61, Seems to jump when reaching 50%,

The Transform button in the Program Monitor works as expected.

This has been an issue since the beginning of the year but has been fairly infrequent. Since updating to Premiere 2025 this now is happening constantly. On some images it does not happen at all, and some images it happens every time. Video is attatched displaying the issue.

Thanks @AndrewTheGreat ! This is a known bug we are working on. From our testing you must meet all this criteria to run into this

  • Stills only
  • Non-high quality rendering is enabled
  • Playback Resolution is set to 1/2, 1/4 .. anything other than "Full"
  • Zoom is set to not-100% ( e.g. Fit)

Maybe this could help you workaround this pesky bug until be have it fixed? Sorry for the trouble! Happy editing and thanks a lot for reporting this!

Annika

From our List of known issues:

Scaling a still image in the timeline via the Effects Control panel or the Properties panel may cause it to appear incorrectly scaled during playback. As a temporary workaround, either change Playback Resolution to Full or turn on High Quality Playback. Both options are in the View menu.

Premiere Pro, 25.0.0/build 61 - bugs

1. Resizing (scaling) an image (jpg) jumps in size at around 50% point.

2. Repositioning video jumps in position when using large Tilt and Swivel values

These are new behavious/bugs that were not seen in the previous version

When you resize a still image with the Scale controls, the image displays OK during the resize or animation, but when the animation is finished or scale is set, the image displays too small, unrelated to any settings. When you'd use a 3D animation and let's say, animate from tilted to straight and flat, the image jumps back to the initial state. The file seems to be exported properly, but editing is a problem. Often, a restart helps but then the problem may occur with new edits. The problem was introduced in the latest 2025 version and has never been a problem before.

I believe I'm having the same issue with 25.0 as well, just simple scaling of PNG images. Looking forward to the fix! Thank you

Quick overview:
I have a video
on top of it a have a png, which is positioned somewhere in the video in a specific position and in smaller size (scaled down to 60)
When I want to change the position on x and y axis, the pic all of the sudden jumps to its full size (scale 100%)
as soon as i let go of the slider (which always reacted kinda awkward to be honest - always have to wiggle the mouse to get it started) the pic snaps back to the size i want it to be.
This makes positioning a pic perfectly somewhere in the frame almost impossible.
I just figured out that it has something to do with playback resolution. when set to full - no problem - everything works as it should and always has. but in 1/2 its buggy...

I still have the issue. Also in 25.2. And I can't edit the project in 24.0 anymore. Real troublemaker this bug!

Confirmed that Build 61 has scaling issues when set to 1/2 resolution in the monitor, but does not have the problem if resolution is set to full.

Confirmed that 25.2 seems to fix the issue

Hi @FilmFabel ,

I have tried reproducing the scenario at our end. It seems to be working with the latest Beta Build 25.2. Could you please retry to check this issue with the latest build, and confirm it? If possible, please do share a sample project where you're getting this issue, will investigate at our end.

Thanks,

Maanvig
