P: Premiere media bin automatically scrolling to the top. Fixed in version 25

After adding a clip to one of my project folders, the bin keeps on scrolling to the top automatically.

I closed and reopened the app, but the issue persists.

The issue happens only for that specifin folder, all others behave as usual.

Premiere Pro version is 24.5.0 (Build 57) on Mac OS Sonoma 14.5

This just started happening to me too. Why? It worked one time to import shots rather than drag and drop, but now that doesn't even work. Hope there is a fix soon.

I can sometimes close the panel and reopen it and it's fine.

Same issue here. Brand new build. Totally specced out. Windows 11.  Brand new install of Premiere Ver 24.5.0 build 57

I have the auto scrolling to the bottom issue. Restarting premiere fixies it but only temporarily. Does not happen when I full screen the bin window or in list view. Incredibly annoying. I hope someone comes up with a solution soon.

We are also having the same issue.  We have a corportate account and are getting ready to deploy a fleet of laptops to the field.  We desperately need a solution.  Premiere 24.5 Build 50.  Annoying.

We can roll back to a prior version but according to this thread, the problem persists.

Help.

I've come across a strange bug in Premiere Pro 24.5. At a certain moment the project bin scroll bar starts running up\down by itself when you scroll or move the bar with the mouse in the opposite direction. I'm absolutely sure my mouse scroll is fine, because I can only fix this behavior by resetting the workspace in Premiere Pro, besides all the other scrollbars in other Premiere Pro windows do not act like that, it's the Project bin only. See the attached video.

It started in 24.5. No changes had been made in my system before that, and I do not have any mouse related software installed.

Win11, i7 14700k, RTX 4080, QCyber Hype corded USB mouse.

No such problem in any other software but Premiere Pro.

Thanks Andrew; ran it to it again today:

I'll leave a note there pointing to this bug report to upvote.

I tested on Win10 PR 24.5.0 and what I see is this:

It only occurs in Icon view: List view AND freeform (with thumbnails) are okay.

I looked at few different "sort" options and none made a difference.

I tried turning off Hover Scrub and Thumbnails show effects, and it made no difference.

I created the "always scrolls to top" 3 times in a row by creating a new bin, double-clicking to open in a new panel, and dragging a bunch of clips from windows explorer.

Closing and reopening the project "fixed" it.

Creating a new bin and dragging the files there "fixed" it.

From that thread, a variety of conditions may "create" it.

Edit to add: I was not able to produce a problem in Beta 24.6.0.37.

@Kevin-Monahan @TrentHappel That discussion thread is not a bug report, and I see no staff comment there. Is there already being tracked? Can we get a status? I rarely use the Icon view, but users who do would find this frustrating.

Ditto, latest version (24.5.0), Mac Sonoma.

Same as everyone else here. Happened multiple times - seems to be when you drag and drop an item into the project folder, as opposed to using the Import tool.

Today it happened again, after I drag&dropped an image from the Finder to a media bin in Premiere. I saved and closed, then re-opened Premiere to get rid of the automatic scrolling.

Same bug. It happens after I try to apply effects onto clips in folder. AND it happend (for the first time today) when I loaded clips into the bin from windows folder.
