Premiere Pro 2025 on Mac Studio M4 Max lagging after sleep mode

New Here ,

Hello! I'm working on my new Mac Studio M4 Max (40 GPU cores, 48GB RAM, Mac OS Sequoia 15.4) with the actual Premiere Pro version (25.2.1) and experience a strange issue: Whenever the Mac is entering sleep mode and being waked up again, Premiere is very laggy (whatever action with the mouse or keyboard Premiere takes up to a few seconds to react). When I close the app and restart, everything is back to normal. With my older machines (M1 Max, M1 Ultra) I never have this issue. Other apps also doesn't seem to be affected. Can you please investigate this? It's very annoying because it forces me to quit and restart Premiere multiple times every day... Thank you!

Hi @Godspeed777,

Welcome to the Premiere Pro forums and sorry for the frustration. A few questions:

When did you start to notice this? Did it coincide with a macOS software update or Premiere Pro update? Does it happen with a specific project or all projects? Have you tried to do the same with version 25.2.1 on your other machines and might there be any hard drives connected that are also waking up along with your computer?

Hope we can help you soon!
Dani

might want to check your system log in items.  I'd try creating a new user with administrator privileges and see if that changes things.
