Premiere Pro 24 Bug – Unable to Open Saved Projects (Black Screen & Crash)

Hello Adobe Support Team,

I am encountering a critical issue with Adobe Premiere Pro 24 that is significantly disrupting my work on Windows 10 Enterprise . Here are the details:

  • I can create a new project and save it, but once I close the project and try to reopen it, Premiere Pro stays on a black screen and subsequently crashes.
    • This issue is present across every version of Premiere Pro 24 (including the mos recent one 24.6.1)
  • I installed Premiere Pro 23.6.9 using the "other versions" tool in Adobe Creative Cloud and I'm able to create and save projects using this version.

Steps I’ve already taken to try and resolve the issue:

  • Reinstalled all Adobe products, including using the Adobe Cleaner tool.
  • Wiped my computer, formatted it, and reinstalled Windows.
  • Reinstalled and repaired every version of Microsoft Visual C++ on my system.

Despite these efforts, the problem persists. My company’s IT department was unable to provide further assistance on this matter.

While I am transitioning to DaVinci Resolve, I still collaborate with colleagues using Premiere Pro. Additionally, as my company continues to pay for my Adobe subscription, I would prefer to have Premiere Pro functioning properly.

I would greatly appreciate your help in resolving this issue.

Thank you,
João Lazaro

Thanks for the reply @Kevin-Monahan

As I stated, I've tried everything.

This was not solved with the normal fixes. I decided to waint on the next update.

It is fixed now with Adobe Premiere Pro 25

Unfortunately (for Adobe) it is too late, because I am transitioning to DaVinci Resolve Studio - bought a speed editor and a license.

Thanks Again

Joao

Hi @joao34953656bmbx,

Try pressing Shift at launch and then disable plug-ins in the Reset Options dialog box. Does that help? Let us know!

Thanks,
Kevin
