Premiere Pro freeze every time GoPro FX Reframe is applied - used to work fine previously
- Background
The GoPro FX Reframe used to work fine up to appox November 2022 when I used it on my old computer (Win 10) and a previous version of Premiere Pro (Pr). After buying a new top notch PC in January 2023 and installing the latest version of all software I am no longer able to edit footage from my 360 camera because Pr freeze every time.
I have tried to get help from GoPro support who is the creator of the plug-in. After several contacts their conclusion was: "we would suggest to wait for another update of Adobe premiere pro which may include changes that resolves the problem." I have since updated Pr several times, but still have the same problem.
I see on the web that many others have the same problem, but I have not seen any solution that have worked for me.
- Version of the app:
Pr v 23.2 and the 2 previous updates,
GoPro-FX-Reframe-Plugin-1.4.0.195 as well as previous version -1.1.0.106
- Platform and OS version:
Processor: Intel(R) Xeon(R) W-11955M CPU @ 2.60GHz 2.61 GHz
Installed RAM: 128
GPU: NVDIA RTX A4000, 16GB
Windows 11 Pro for Workstations [22H2]
- Basic steps to reproduce the problem - actual result
Create new Pr project
Import a 360 degree .mov video created using export in GoPro Player from a GoProMax .360 file
All looks and work fine in Pr so far, so good.
Apply the Video Effext "GoPro FX Reframe"
Premiere Pro freezes and never recovers. Pr shows ups as active using approx.18% CPU in Task Manager. Unresponsive and must be terminated in Task Manager.
- Attempted:
Tried old version of the plugin
Installed new Pr updates as an\d when they have arrived
Tried GoPro support who says the problem must lie with Pr .
