Reset to saved layout shortcut pops out Project Panel

The shortcut to reset to saved layout (Shift + Opt/Alt + 0) resets the layout, but pops out the project panel into a seperate window every time. I was able to temporarily resolve this issue by creating a duplicate copy of a preset layout, however, the problem affected my custom workspaces after I shut the program down and started it back again.

Clicking "Reset to saved layout" from the Window menu or from the Workspace shortcut menu does not experience the same problem (hence the bug report.)

I work almost exclusively in the massively superior Production mode ... yet even then, every so often one project panel of the Production opens in the lower-left quadrant panel group of the main Premiere UI window ... with History/Libraries et al.

Frustrating, yes. Annoying, surely.

And while it only takes a couple seconds to drag it back to the second monitor's Panel Group of Production/Projects, why ... why?

This setting remains one of the ongoing frustrations with Preimere.

It works until it doesn't. And the more work, or manual ordering of windows in between intentionally saving layouts, the higher liklihood of resetting to saved not actually doing anything useful.

It always does this even now on my Mac. It's really frustrating - not hte end of the world but wastes my time!

This bug is still present in PR 25.0.0. I have not tested a recent Beta.

Upvoted as well!

I am on my 7 day trial and the first thing  I did was mess up the layout. A slimple search online to fix the layout taught me the Alt + Shift + 0 (Windows). After doing that I also had the project window popup, hence I found myself here to see if there was a logical reason hotkeys function differently.

But right before I found myself here I was on step 3 or 4 of the first video editing tutorial. Following it to the dot I was able to put the project panel back in place using the edit bar by clicking Window, hovering over Workspaces and clicking "Reset to Saved Layout" exactly as you shared in that short video. After watching your short demo of this issue I also learned how to put popups back into place, so thanks for that!

@Robert37012188x8f0,

Upvoted.

lol, thanks for the correction. Shft+Alt+0 (zero) "works" - and yes, when using it, the Project Panel is left as a floating panel. Fascinating, since adding Ctrl+B as another shortcut works without popping out the Project Panel.

And I replicated the problem in Beta 25.0.0.29. I could not assign an alternative.

Shift Option 0 (Zero not the letter O). Here is a video:

@Robert37012188x8f0,

Win 10. Shft+Alt+O gives me a windows beep. I added Ctrl+B and it works.

I tried a standard and a custom workspace, and it resets normally.

Are you saying that the Project Panel pops up (as a floating panel) when you reset with the shortcut?
