The Filter Bin Content and Find functions in the Project panel are not working. I do not get any results when I search words that appear in my files' markers, transcript, or description.

Hi guys, I faced the same issue and solved it with moving (copy & paste project’s asset) the WHOLE Project to a brand new project (prproj)

Hope it’s help and hopefully it will be FIX SOON, have a good day 🙋🏻

Thanks for the comment Fernando. Perhaps a team member can take a look to verify. Can you make a screenshot of the issue so that the team has more info to work with.

Thanks,
Kevin

Hi @mattchristensen, I'm still experiencing this issue. Searching in Filter Bin Content does not return results that are in the metadata columns of the project panel. Here is a screen recording of the example. Can you please help?

@Evan Barrientos @Stan Jones I'm seeing no change in functionality on my end. Project panel search (via the search box, Search Bin, or Edit > Find) has never been able to search within markers or transcriptions. Project panel search will match against the metadata columns you choose when creating the Search Bin or when setting up a Find operation.

If you are doing a Find (Edit > Find...) make sure you have it set to "Any" rather than "All" if you are only using the first parameter.

If you're still not seeing what you expect please share a screenshot that shows the metadata visible in the Project panel, and your setup of either the Search Bin or Find window.

@mattchristensen, Thanks for commenting. I'm sure this used to work....

Evan,

I get your results. I am in List view in the Project Panel and have at least one text entry in the Tape Name, Description, and Log Note columns. None of them are found.

It found filenames and "online" in the status column.

There has been a feature request/Idea for searching across transcripts/caption tracks, but I cannot find a link for it at the moment.

See this post regarding submitting "Ideas":

Post a link to it here so we can upvote.

Thanks @mattchristensen, but this is not the cause of the problem. I get no results when I search for words that are in the keywords and description columns of the Project panel.

Also, that's alarming to hear that I can't search content in markers or transcripts across all clips in my project. That's an extremely important feature for editing. Where can I request that feature to be restored?

@Evan Barrientos right now searching in Premiere Pro is specific to the panel you are searching. If you search in the Project panel you will match against the metadata columns you see in List View. Since markers and transcripts are not visible there, they are not part of that search. You can search markers in the Marker panel and search within a single transcript in the Text panel.
