Space Bar does not work to play video in Adobe Premiere Pro

Space Bar does not work to play or pause video in Adobe Premiere Pro

 

Playback works if physically clicking the play button. Space bar does nothing.

 

There are no shortcuts visible in the keyboard shortcuts window.

 

I've tried:

- Resetting cache

- Disabling full keyboard access in Accessibility > Keyboard

- Reinstalling the full app (5 times, and waited 3 months between installs once)

 

Running:

- Mac OS 15.5 (24F74)

- Premiere Pro 25.3.0

 

Being connected with support has not yielded anything yet, unfortunately.

Any advice? Much appreciated.

Did Sumeet's suggestion work?  Do your JKL keys work correctly? Sorry for the frustration, and thanks for reaching out.

Sorry about the poor experience. Could you please navigate to Premiere Pro (menu bar) > Keyboard Shortcuts & search for the command Play-Stop Toggle under the Application section? If not already, please map it to the Space key & see if the playback is working properly.
