Swiping gestures not working left/right, pinch and zoom is slow also

Hi! I'm trying to work on a time sensitive project on Premiere Pro v.23.4 but the 2 finger scroll left/right on the timeline is not working properly. It's very jumpy, gets stuck or has a long delay in moving. I'm experiencing the same issue with pinch and zoom also. Its making editing impossible because i can't move the timeline to the sides or zoom properly which is a nightmare for my work. I'm using a macbook on mac OS Ventura 13.3.1 (22E261). The issue seems to have come after the new premiere update. I updated my mac to see if that helped but it doesn't seem to be an issue on any other application and it did nothing. I tried other mac related fixes but i have come to the conclusion that it is most likely Premiere that is the issue. I'm totally lost so help would be greatly appreciated. I need the pinch and zoom function and the timeline to move smoothly again as I scroll left/right.
