Video layers not visible underneath with repositioning

Not even sure how to phrase this, but essentially if I have 2 tracks of video and I re-position one of them, the layer underneath does not appear until I change the position to some arbitrary amount before it's revealed. If that makes any sense. The layer underneath just appears as black until it the top layer is moved an extreme amount and then it will reveal the bottom layer. It doesn't behave this way in ever instance and I don't know the reason why/when it decides to do this.

Attached a video to show what I mean.

Using PP 25.3.0 with macOS Sonoma.

You're welcome @JOSHBEE.BE and thank you for the information! The issue can be replicated and a bug has been filed with the team.

@Dani_V. Thanks for acknowledging! Also I updated to Sequoia 15.5 to see if the OS made any different, but still running into the issue.

Eh, a bit different as this situation doesn't just randomly appear and dissapear like that when opening/closing.

Anyway, typically when I go to prep for color and finish I'll put a bright color overlay underneath so I can easily detect if any edges are off slightly so I can tweak before picture locking but I noticed that some of my exports had black edges and realized they weren't being flagged with the overlay which led me down this rabbit hole of trying to figure it out. Never had this issue on earlier CC versions.

Thanks for these extra videos and insight. I have seen a similar-looking bug from a while back that is still being worked on internally. There is a difference in that it's more than just the bottom that goes black, but let me know if this looks the same.

Mix of formats. What I've gathered from testing around with various clips, is if the video fills frame exactly, then it behaves like normal. But as soon as the scale is increased, the bug happens - and then depending on how far it is pushed in will change how far the re-position needs to happen before it reveals the track below.

Also it seems if the left/right is adjusted, then it behaves as normal as well - but if centered then it has the error. And it also doesn't effect the top part of the clip, only the bottom. Very strange.

And no change to the issue when I let go of the mouse.

Here are more examples at 100% - 120% - 150% for reference: https://f.io/i-dNq674

Hi @JOSHBEE.BE,

Thanks for the message. Welcome to the forums. I can see what you mean from your video. Thanks for that; it was super helpful. I wasn't able to reproduce this with a quick test.

If you release the mouse on the video before the one below appears, will it show up once you let go?  Or, does it have to cover that amount?

What type of footage are you working with? Is it all the same format, or is there a mix?  Please give the team a few more details.  I hope we can help you soon. Sorry for the pain points.
