Zoom Tool turned red, stopped working, can't be reset

I was working in Premiere Pro and the + sign in my zoom tool cursor turned red for some reason. Now it won't zoom. I can't find a way to change it back to black or get it working normally again. I restarted and reset the program preferences and nothing changed. Couldn't find any discussion of this problem online or any documentation as to what the tool is doing.

I never use the zoom tool but dont think it turns to black.

Just hit - (minus) or hold down alt.

Alt changes the + to -, naturally, but it doesn't actually zoom anymore.

I cannot reproduce your issue on windows.

Like Ann, I don't use the zoom tool, but when I clicked on it for you, I see the + and - in it are red.

Win11, 21H2, PP23.4
