3 monitors, 2 different resolutions - problem with displaying the preview in full screen

Hello!


I have an unusual problem. I recently replaced my entire PC setup to improve my work efficiency. Previously I used 3 monitors:


1. Main monitor with a resolution of 1920x1080
2.Two old side monitors with a resolution of 1280x1024 - one for the timeline, the other for effects control, media browser, etc.

And I had no problem previewing the footage in full screen on the main monitor.

 

Currently, after replacing my PC with a new one, I also invested in better monitors and now the set looks like this:

1. Main monitor with a resolution of 3840x2160

2. Two side monitors with a resolution of 2160x1440

*The workspace in premiere pro is organized exactly the same as in the previous set in terms of timeline arrangement, effects control etc.

 

Now, unfortunately, when I want to preview the movie on the main monitor, it only displays the preview on part of its working surface...

I have already tried various solutions and unfortunately nothing helps. As if Premiere Pro adjusted the preview size to suit the lower resolution of side monitors.

I want the full-screen video to be previewed on the main monitor due to its resolution and color parameters, etc.

 

Have any of you encountered such a problem and is there any reasonable solution?

I will be grateful for any advice on this topic!

    By full screen preview, are you maximizing the program panel ... the tilde key ... or do you mean the Transmit Out?

    1. I set the workspace to the "Edit" preset so that Premier Pro puts everything on one main screen

    2. Preview after using "Toggle full screen"

    As you can see, when everything is on one monitor, the full-screen preview works without any problems.

     

    Of course, I can switch between workspaces while working to display the image on the full screen of the monitor, but this is not a very good solution.

     

    I definitely prefer to keep the interface spread across 3 monitors while the video preview is displayed on the main monitor. This solution allows me to observe the timeline in real time on the right monitor and make color corrections, and if necessary, I still have access to the files in the project on the left monitor.

     

    With the previous configuration described earlier, everything worked as it should, so I'm wondering how to solve this problem.

     

    I changed the resolutions of the monitors so that they were all at the same resolution, 3840x2160 or 2160x1440, and then the program coped with full-screen preview on the main monitor without any problems. However, as you probably guessed, this solution is also not good.

     

    Forcing a resolution other than the native one causes a huge loss of sharpness and quality of the displayed image on monitors.

    Every one of us works differently. And it is fascinating to see the different approaches.

     

    I work nearly always among my nine custom workspaces.

     

    I use four monitors, an ultrawide something like 2560x1080 for the main Windows UI.

     

    To the left, a Dell Ultrasharp 23" monitor with 1920x1080 screen, where I create for each workspace a panel group that has just a minimalist bit of bare screen around it so I'm sure it doesn't 'bleed' to another panel. That would make Premiere quite cranky with bad behavior. (Ridiculous as this is. Ah well.) This screen always has my Production panel, with Projects and Source monitor opening inside the Production panel, and typically a narrow panel along the right edge for Effects.

     

    I have a BenQ UHD screen up-top, 27" at standard UHD resolution, with windows set to use that monitor at 150%. And a fourth, smaller screen for external scopes, use in my ATEM mini-pro switcher, what not. 1920x1080 but only about 12" diagonal.

     

    I can 'full screen' the main UI panel, or the left Production/Effects panel, without trouble. Using either the tilde key or the other function you are using. I rarely do so for the Program monitor, as ... why? ... but at times making the Timeline panel full-screen is handy on that ultrawide.

     

    The UHD monitor, as it is used for Transmit Out is always of course full screen.

     

    And I can't within my process replicate the issue you're having. Nor on my laptop, which of course normally works with just the one screen.

     

    I'm not clear on whether you use custom named workspaces or not. And if so, do you leave that tiny bit of space between the edge of the panel group on that monitor and the screen edge?

    Unfortunately not. When I click the full screen view shortcut, it locks in there and I can't move it
