Question

4.5 exporting as 1080 x 1348

Hi all,

I'm having an issue when I export a video - I make a new sequence at 1080 x 1350 but when I go to export the video, the source reads as correct ration but the output reads as 1080 x 1348. It leaves a a one pixel width black line on the left & right hand sides of the video.

I'm going crazy trying to figure this one out & can't find much about it on the internet so any help would be higely appreciated! I'm sure it's something super simple that I'm stupidly forgetting!

Thank you in advance!!

I agree with Ann. H.264 requires that each and every dimension of a given video frame be an EXACT multiple of 4. 1350 does NOT divide evenly by 4. Therefore, your choices for the resolution are 1080 x 1348 or 1080 x 1352, but not 1080 x 1350, under the H.264 standards rule.

In addition, lower field first is NOT compliant at all whatsoever with HD video standards. In fact, it is a holdover from the SD (Standard Definition) days. If your 1080 x 1350 original was really interlaced, the field order of that video should have been "Upper field first." More likely, however, these vertical cameras actually shoot progressive-scan video; therefore, the field order should have been set in both the project and the export as "None (progressive scan)." However, the import from your source to Adobe might have been mis-interpreted as "Lower field first;" in which case it should be manually changed in the Custom settings to "None (progressive scan)."

Hi Lovi1,

your problem seems to be that you have a sequence and export setting with Lower Field First while you are working with HD video, which should be Upper Field First.

Best of luck

Perhaps 1348 can be devide by 4 and 1350 not.

On a side note set field order to progressive (sequence and export).
