5.1 Surround Sound imports appearing as Stereo

I have imported mp4 files with multiple audio tracks into a sequence in Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2018. I am unable to figure out how to get the surround sound working correctly. I have selected 5.1 Surround when I created the sequence. The video files have multiple sound tracks, one being a 5.1 Surround Dolby Digital Plus track, and the other being a stereo AAC track. Premiere Pro is showing these tracks as L R L R L R repeating instead of all six channels. Only two channels appear in the modify clip window instead of six. How can I get the 5.1 Surround sound working properly with all six channels?
